Exclusive: Lois Lane May Be Wilde

Over the weekend Warner Bros. Pictures announced that Henry Cavill is the new son of Krypton in the upcoming reboot of "Superman," which is being directed by Zack Snyder.

Now the big question is who is the villain and who is going to play Lois Lane, the primary love interest of Superman? Earlier today we reported that the site 'What's Playing' supposedly had these actresses read or have been asked to read for the part of Lois Lane. The actresses are Kristen Stewart (GOD LETS HOPE NOT), Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, Dianna Agron and Malin Akerman. And that Kristen Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead tried out as well.

NOW I got word from a close reliable source WHO I CAN NOT MENTION, SO STOP WITH THE "WHO IS YOUR SOURCE" as if I am actually going to tell you and have that person get fired or in trouble.

What I was told today was that Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy, Cowboys & Aliens) has tested for Lois Lane in "Superman." The source knows this because they've been hired to work on "KIN" and the dates may be pushed back to accommodate the "Superman" schedule should she get the gig. They also mentioned to me that the Rachel McAdams story is true.

I contacted Warner Bros. Pictures and asked if it was true and they responded with "NO COMMENT AT THIS TIME."

I for one love the idea of Olivia Wilde playing the investigative reporter at the Daily Planet alongside Henry Cavill.
Who do you think should play Lois Lane?

Between the two, I have seen more of McAdams work, so I would pick her over Wilde.

Well, at least they're both from North America. I'd be lying if I said McAdams was my ideal but I could go with either.

Since Jennifer Carpenter played Lois in the Earth One comic book (c'mon, you KNOW that's who Shane Davis modeled her after), she ought to be at least given a screen test.

Completely not on topic for this thread but I'm really warming up to the idea of Cavill as Superman. Was he my first choice? Puncher, you KNOW he wasn't even in my top five. Even so, I'm getting comfortable with it. Mind you, a great big part of that could owe back to me being completely freaking relieved that BJ Blandon isn't coming back for sure.

On that account, I do owe you kind of an apology since I was such a doubting Thomas about it for so long. I remember saying how panicked I was that he might come back for second helpings and, as I recall, you were the only one on this forum who 100% maintained he had no chance in hell 100% of the time with no equivocation or moments of doubt. Well I like that olvia is also in the game. If they are going young early in career lois I think oliva would be a fine choice. As for rachael could be more fitting as a more seasoned lois. But I would be happy if either of these too did get the role.
